1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FileCrank (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you must not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use FileCrank. If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you are under 13, you must not use the Service.

2. Service Description

FileCrank provides 170+ free, browser-based file processing tools across 7 categories: PDF manipulation and processing, image and photography conversion, video and audio tools, archive management, and developer utilities. No account or registration is required to use the Service.

The Service is supported by display advertising. You may see advertisements while using FileCrank. Advertising is served in accordance with your consent preferences.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to upload or process files that contain:

  • Copyrighted material you do not own or have the right to process under applicable law.
  • Illegal content of any kind, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence, or material that violates applicable laws.
  • Personal data of other individuals without their knowledge and consent.
  • Malware, viruses, or any malicious code.

You also agree not to:

  • Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits or other access controls.
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it for other users.

4. File Handling

Files you upload are transmitted to our servers solely for the purpose of performing the operation you requested. We do not read, inspect, index, analyse, or share the contents of your files with any third party.

All uploaded and processed files are automatically deleted within 1 hour of processing completion. A background job enforces this deletion every 15 minutes. Download links expire simultaneously.

You may request immediate deletion of your files at any time using the Delete my files now button available on every tool page.

FileCrank is a processing tool, not a storage service. You are responsible for downloading your processed files before the download link expires.

Staff do not access file contents except in the course of investigating reported abuse, and then only to the minimum extent necessary.

5. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

We do not provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for uptime. For critical processing needs, we recommend maintaining local backups of your original files.

6. Intellectual Property

FileCrank and all associated source code, user interface designs, logos, trademarks, and service infrastructure are owned by FileCrank Ltd. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

FileCrank claims no ownership, rights, or licence over the files you upload. All rights in your uploaded files remain entirely with you. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over the content of files processed through the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

FileCrank is provided free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our maximum aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to your use of the Service is zero (£0 / €0 / $0).

We are not liable for any loss of data, file corruption, loss of profits, or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or from any processing error.

This limitation does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. EU consumers retain all mandatory protections under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and applicable national consumer protection law regardless of this clause.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Israel. Disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Israel, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.

EU consumers retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in their country of residence, which shall apply in addition to and not in replacement of these Terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice displayed on the site. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
