O que os usuários dizem
“Worked exactly as expected. The speed change was smooth, audio stayed in sync, and the download was fast. Very easy to use compared to other tools I tried.”

Playback speed is a surprisingly powerful creative and practical lever. Slowing a clip to 0.5× turns a quick gesture into a clear demonstration. Speeding it up to 2× or 4× compresses a long process video into a punchy time-lapse. Video Speed Changer gives you a simple slider — from 0.25× crawl to 4× fast-forward — and re-encodes the result as a standard video file at the new speed.
Unlike browser-side `playbackRate` tricks that only change playback without altering the file, this tool produces a genuinely re-timed video: the duration changes, the audio pitch is corrected, and the output plays at the right speed on any device or platform.
How to Change Video Speed Online
- 1
Upload your video
Drop any MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, or MKV file onto the page. Files up to 50 MB are supported.
- 2
Choose a speed
Select 0.25×, 0.5×, 0.75×, 1.5×, 2×, 3×, or 4×. Speeds below 1× slow the video down; above 1× speed it up.
- 3
Download your video
Click Change Speed. FileCrank adjusts both video and audio tempo to match. Files are deleted within 1 hour.
How Video Speed Adjustment Works
Changing video speed requires two independent operations on the two streams inside the container. The video stream is re-timed by adjusting the presentation timestamp (PTS) of each frame — for 2× speed, every frame's timestamp is halved, so they appear twice as fast. For slow motion, frames are spread further apart in time.
Audio is more complex: simply stretching or compressing the audio waveform changes pitch as well as duration. The tool applies a phase-vocoder algorithm (via FFmpeg's `atempo` filter) that preserves the original pitch while adjusting duration — so voices don't sound like chipmunks at 2× or like giants at 0.5×. Both streams are then re-muxed into the output container and delivered as a single file.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the audio change pitch when I speed up the video?
No. FileCrank uses the atempo filter which adjusts audio speed while preserving the original pitch.
What happens at 0.25× speed?
The video and audio both play at quarter speed, achieved by chaining two 0.5× atempo filters.
Can I slow a video to 0.1×?
The minimum supported speed is 0.25×. For more extreme slow motion, record at a high frame rate on your device.
Can I add a fade-in or fade-out to my speed-changed video?
Yes. After adjusting the speed, you can add cinematic intro or outro transitions from a selection of 22 effects.
Speed Changer vs. Video Editor Speed Controls
Professional editors offer speed ramps, time remapping curves, and optical flow interpolation for buttery slow motion. Video Speed Changer doesn't do any of that — it applies a single constant speed multiplier to the whole clip. That simplicity is its strength: no timeline, no project file, no export queue. For a uniform speed change, this is faster than any NLE by a wide margin.
